Levi Ray
Born 6-12-12, 6:30pm, weighing 8lbs. 8oz., 20 in long...
...and 37cm head size. (34 is considered 'large')
Which led to:
Not what we planned, but both mommy and baby are doing great. Daddy got to sit in and took some great pictures. He was also a huge help and support for me.
And here is our cute baby boy!
We're so, so happy, excited, thrilled, overjoyed, blessed (etc.) that he has joined our family. It's been a long road, as most of you know, but God is so faithful and he has given us such an incredible gift.
To recap:
I had a dr's appointment Monday morning and because I was nine days beyond my due date they wanted to induce. That night. So, after all of the important phone calls and exciting news, Tim and I checked into the hospital at 7pm.
I was given some drugs to move things along, but they didn't. So around 4pm on Tuesday the doctor came in to talk to us about what would be the best thing to do. Baby Ferg (as he was still known as then) was being a little stubborn and still liked it a little too much inside momma.
I just got Levi nursed and in bed, so this is to be continued...

Waiting
Here we are, two days after D-Day and Baby Ferg is still as cozy as ever in there. And still a wiggle worm. No new symptoms to report. No contractions or embarrassing water leakage. Just time. And while I'm enjoying it, I'm still so anxious for this little blessing to get here.
Thankfully the vast majority of people at church yesterday were still normal towards me. Unfortunately that did not include the very first person I saw as I walked in the door. I was greeted with, not "Good Morning" or "How are you?" but, "You're still here?!" :-/ Tim told me I should've said, "It's a pregnancy, not a disease!" Of course I didn't think of that at the time. I just graciously smiled, said "yep" and kept on going. I wonder if people realize that we're not stalling this on purpose, that we actually do realize that my due date was two days ago, that there's really nothing else to do but wait... Unless you count those who give you the advice of jumping on a pogo stick. Wha?
Our church uses a Phone Tree system for prayer chain calls and other announcements, etc. We got a call Saturday afternoon about the Sunday morning men's prayer. Normal. What I didn't realize was that a couple people, who mentioned this to me on Sunday, thought it was a call about us having the baby. Um, not gonna use the church phone tree to announce Baby Ferg. It will obviously end up being announced on Facebook, but we're not in any hurry. We're more concerned about enjoying this time and sharing it with family and close friends.

39 Weeks
One week to go. And what did we do this past week? Got new carpet and bought furniture for the living room. You know, just a few last minute things. IKEA loves to see us coming.
I'm feeling pretty normal. There were a couple false labor pains late last week. A long steady one (which was fairly uncomfortable) and a smaller one (more manageable) the next day. They were both in my lower abdomen and went away after I drank some water and changed positions. I've been having more Braxton-Hicks as well. I don't see the doctor until Wednesday since Monday is a holiday, so that gives Baby Ferg more time to wiggle him/herself down. And he/she is as wiggly as ever.
I also had a fairly successful trip to the hair salon today. I managed to avoid any labor nightmare stories or overabundance of weird advice. I almost wanted to thank my stylist for the normal conversation as well as the good job she did on my hair.
This whole past week was my first one not working at the church and it was really nice to have all the free time. I wish I could say that I was as productive as I should've been, but I'm taking the advice of several people and just relaxing.
My mom got me the 'What to Expect the First Year' book and it's been really helpful so far. I haven't read very far into it, but the beginning has a lot of good new information as well as things that are a review.
I'm getting very ready for Baby Ferg to arrive. It's not that I'm uncomfortable physically, but everything is all set and we're both excited to start this new chapter in our lives.
Hopefully my next post will have pictures of a cute little face!

I can't believe it!
Yesterday was 38 weeks. Unbelievable. It's gone so quickly yet at the same time very slowly. I can remember a lot of 'firsts.' And now I'm having a lot of 'lasts.' Some things I'll miss: feeling the baby move and having that bond, being able to eat whatever and not having to worry about it. And some things I won't: not sleeping comfortably-although right now I am, in fact, getting sleep, so I guess I'll miss that.
A lot has happened since my last post and I want to catch up on everything before Baby Ferg gets here.
My church had a baby shower for me on May 6. There was quite a crowd and I got a lot of fun things.
I also got the pack 'n play, bumbo seat, lots of fun books and some gift cards for clothes after Baby Ferg gets here.
Doctor's appointments have been going well. Baby is head down, which was great news and the weight gain has been minimal, even though it seems like I'm eating more now. I go again tomorrow and they'll check to see how much, if any, I've dilated. I found out at my last appointment that the hard belly feeling have been Braxton-Hicks contractions. I thought I was feeling the baby's back. They are painless, thankfully, and I can just barely tell that they're happening. Sometimes my heart rate increases or my belly will feel different, but that's really it. There have been two instances where I've felt real contractions. One woke me up a few nights ago and another less intense one happened a day later. They were both brief and just single ones.
The suitcase (and other bags) is 99% packed. There's just some last minute items to go in. No, the Rubbermaid tote isn't going.
The nursery is pretty much all set, too. The curtains from mom look great and all the books and other toys really filled up the bookcase. There's still a few things to be done, but right now Cooper is watching over things.
We're getting new carpet installed on Tuesday and I have one more coat of paint to do in the living room tomorrow morning. So let's hope Baby Ferg decides to wait out the full 40 weeks. Or at least 39. He's still a little monkey in there and I seriously would not be surprised if one of his giant kicks breaks my water. I'm excited for Baby Ferg to get here, but getting a little nervous about going to the hospital. I feel as prepared as I can be, thanks to the class and the books I've read. I try to keep my mind focused on the end result and look forward to that.
I hope to blog again soon, but my schedule is, well, a little unpredictable right now. :-)

"Oh, I didn't realize I had to do that."
Has been my mantra for the past couple days. Along with, "I can't believe it's finally time to do that." The past couple days have been filled with assembling the crib (thanks to my wonderful hubby), taking off the tags and washing up toys, getting out the stroller/car seat, putting away things that I won't need for a little while, making yet another list of things that we need and hopefully today, cleaning out the hallway closet to make room for Baby Ferg's stuff.
And speaking of stuff, I have another shower tomorrow. My church has graciously organized one and I'm excited. My mom and Katie are coming down, which will be great, too.
I still feel pretty good. I have my next appt. on Tuesday and hope to maybe find out how things are going in there with BF. I don't think he/she has dropped into position yet because I feel movement all over the place. But that's based on my very limited knowledge.
We're still struggling with a boy's name. Nothing has really jumped out at us yet. I'll suggest one and Tim will say, 'Hmm, I'll have to think about that.' And then it's vice versa. I'm also still trying to find the perfect going home outfits (boy and girl). So much to do and I'm sure so much more I haven't realized I have to do.

Showers of...
fun, friends, gifts, happy tears, yummy food, family...and the list goes on.
Baby Ferg and I had such a great time last weekend at the baby shower in North East. Many kudos to my mom and sister who put in all the hard work to make it such an awesome day
Baby Ferg is well stocked with many things now.
Everyone brought a book and so his/her bookshelf is full, too. I'm really looking forward to reading all of them to our little one.
Grandma made Baby Ferg a beautiful quilt. And all along I thought I was picking out material for just the curtains. So sneaky...
Even mommy got a fun present.
We're getting close now, only 5 weeks to go.
I still feel really good and everything went well at the doctor's last week. BF is still moving and rolling around in there quite a bit. She's developed a little more of a schedule within the past couple weeks or so. Thankfully for the most part, she likes to sleep when mommy sleeps. However the frequent trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night sometimes wake her up. I guess it's all just preparing me for my soon-to-be mommy life.
